Washington Palm Trees or
Royal Palms offer a characteristic shaped with a swollen base and typical palm fronds to the top. The artificial palm trees exhibit stems, leaves and trunks so realistic that they can easily be
mistaken for the natural plant. They are available in sizes ranging from 24 inches to 12 feet but the best selling specimens are typically 9 feet in height. A sample with 12 leaves can retail for
as much as $1800.
Cycas Palms can be used either outdoors or indoors and are a favored type due to their lush foliage. The smaller varieties are ideal for table top while the taller trees can be used in room corners. These artificial palm trees range from 20 inches to 60 inches. The 25 inch to 36 inch specimens are very popular among interior decorators.
Kentia Palm trees typically a short trunk with long fronds reaching upwards. These artificial palm trees are a favorite in offices and range in size from the 33 inch mini Kentia to the 9 foot giants. A mini Kentia retails for $40, while taller trees can cost much more.
Artificial palm trees look exactly like natural palms. All the consumer needs to do is
pay for it and bring it home or have it delivered. There are no qualms about the tree getting too big for its location or causing damage. There is also no worrying about watering, fertilizing or
trimming. Additionally, there is no possibility of insect damage since they are treated.
Another benefit of artificial palm trees is that they can be fitted into planters
just as a live tree would, and they add to the overall realism even more. A popular way of doing this is to place the artificial palm tree into a plastic pot and then taping up the holes. Various
materials such as stones, small pebbles or pieces of brick can then be used as weights and expanding foam can be utilized to keep the artificial palm tree firmly in place. Once this has been
completed, the artificial palm tree can be transferred to a more decorative planter for a better display effect.
