Flowering Plants and Flowering Trees
The number of species of flowering pants and flowering trees is estimated to be about between 25,000 and 40,000 species. These plants bear flowers and the various parts they have are sepals, petals, stamens and carpals. They have mind boggling diversity but the diversity is not evenly distributed, nearly all the species of flowering plants belong to the eudicot, monocot and magnolid clades. The remaining 5 clades contain a little over 250 species I total which is a very small proportion of the entire gamut of flowering plants.
Flowering plants and flowering trees are also known as angiosperms. They are the
most widespread group of land plants. The spermatophytes are those plants that produce seeds. The angiosperms and gymnosperms are the two groups of seed plants that exist. The flowering plants
have a wide range and you will be baffled when you find more about them.
Then earliest flowering plants and flowering trees have been identified so far are
fund to have been dated back to being 125 to 142 million years old. In 1996 paleontologists from the United Kingdom discovered fossils of Bevhalstia Pebja, a wetland herb about 25 cms high and
dated it back to 130 million years. The fossils were discovered in Southern England. The flowering plants and flowering trees have now existed for 425 million years. The earliest fossils of
a flowering plant or tree are dated to bout 125 million years. Charles Darwin called it an ‘abominable mystery’ - the sudden appearance of relatively modern flowers on a
flowering plant.. They are the most important from an ecological standpoint. The flowering plants and flowering trees make up the plants of a lot of different habitats. They form the habitats of
many types of grasslands and the grasslands themselves. The grasses in the grasslands are all flowering plants. Most of the forests and most terrestrial habitats are comprised of the flowering
plants and trees.
These flowering plants and flowering trees form the habitats of most of the food
sources and shelters of most of the animals an organisms that live in them. To hymns they provide mot of our food and most of the means of shelter or fulfill our shelter requirement. Humans are
bringing in a lot of change in the environment.
This is affecting biodiversity and the survival of the flowering plants and
flowering trees
Not only can flowering plants, flowering trees can also be grown in the garden
and the house. The common flowering trees are the dogwood, cherry, mulberry. Crabapple, Harry Lauder’s walking stick, Washington Hawthorn Trees and crape myrtles. These flowering trees can
be grown in the house. These plants are procured by many people. Dogwood is one of the most popular flowering trees in the house. These trees beautify our surroundings. Flowering trees
and flowering plants are rich in their diversity and contribute a lot to the biological configuration of a place. These flowering plants and trees are an essential component of our bio
diversity.
