Floral Greenery
Greenery is
generally used to describe the foliage of a plant, whether it is live or artificial. This may follow a literal interpretation and be taken to mean only green foliage. However, variegated foliage with other
colors, inclusive of green, can be included in this definition. There is a large variety of silk greenery in existence today. They usually fall into the categories of silk bushes silk ferns, and silk
garlands and swags.
Silk bushes are a form of low maintenance floral greenery.
They are an excellent and cost effective way of adding a tropical look and feel to your office or home decor. This type of silk greenery is typically sold as either potted or hanging specimens.
Popular silk bushes include English ivy bushes, Geranium bushes, Maple ivy bushes, Coleus bushes, Mixed ivy bushes and Holland ivy bushes. The appearance of this greenery can be enhanced by decorative baskets and planters.
Two of the more popular potted silk plants are the English ivy and the Coleus. Both of these Silk
greenery are prized for their departure from the typical green foliage. The leaves of the English ivy are a greenish brown and a potted plant with 108 leaves can be obtained around $25. The Coleus has
beautiful reddish green leaves and a plant of comparable size.
The English ivy also enjoys a high demand as a hanging silk bush. Its delightful coloration enhances the natural beauty of any living space. This fake greenery is quite affordable with a 36 inch specimen retailing at just around $15.
Sage Ivy is also very fashionable today and is typically made from polyester, synthetics and iron wire.
These hanging silk bushes are very high quality and add a natural looking touch of healthy greenery to any decor. A 31 inch specimen with 320 leaves each retails at very low rates.
Silk ferns
are also a wonderful way to bring the tropics indoors using fake greenery. There are many varieties and the price is normally dependent on the complexity of the leaves. A Mountain fern with 40 leaves is good in the center of one’s drawing room. However, these leaves tend to be simple. A more intricate specimen, with 24 leaves can also be obtained.
One of the easiest, and cheapest, ways to incorporate fake greenery in any area is to use silk garlands and swags. These display realistic leaves and vines that will brighten any room. Typical silk garlands include
the English ivy garland, pothos garland, silk rose garland, frosted grape garland and the nepthythis ivy garland.
Rose garlands
are tremendously popular because of the added splashes of color from the rose petals. A 72 inch mini rose garland is a good decorative piece and comes in lilac, pink and cream. A very unique specimen is the 72 inch frosted grape garland which includes 4 very realistic bunches of grapes and this can be bought for anything around $10.
There are many obvious advantages in using artificial greenery. The flexible stems can be bent to
droop and curve in any manner that is desired. They do not grow so they will retain their shape without requiring pruning. Silk greenery does not call for the use of freshening techniques or watering. They do not require sunlight so they can be placed anywhere without the fear of dropping leaves.
