How To: Artificial Succulent Centerpiece

Succulents have been one of the hottest trends in landscaping for the past few years and that trend is now extending itself to houseplants and special event centerpieces as well. Succulents are a low-maintenance alternative to flowers, especially when you create your own custom succulent centerpiece out of artificial succulents. Our line of realistic-looking succulents includes a wide variety of plants and colors, making it easy to create a visually appealing custom arrangement.

What You’ll Need

Step 1: Choosing a Container

There are so many different types of pots an centerpiece containers available. You don’t have to worry about watering artificial plants, so you are not limited to containers which offer drainage. Clear bowls, concrete vessels, and decorative pots are all frequently used for housing succulents. Think about the table the centerpiece is going on. A square or round container would be great fro a round table while a long, rectangular container or trio of glass containers would make more sense down the center of a long, rectangular table.

Step 2: Add Soil

When you use a clear or transparent container, using a combination of soil and rocks will enhance the natural look of the succulents and give your arrangement a professional look. Add a couple inches of soil into the bottom of your container. For a little bit of a different look, try tipping the container on an angle when adding your soil.

Step 3: Add Rocks

Choose a beautiful bag of small white rocks from your local craft or garden supply store. Add at least an inch of rocks on top of the soil. These rocks will also function to help secure the succulents into the arrangement.

Step 4: Arrange Succulents

Spread your artificial succulents out on the table and one by one, start adding them to your centerpiece. Try not to put two of the same variety next to one another. Succulents can be as sparse or as dense as you like. Both ways look lovely. Play around with the arrangement until you are pleased with the results.
