Decorative Vases on the Cheap

The way you present a floral display matters almost as much as the quality of the flowers you’re using—whether they’re silk flowers or live flowers. There’s no need to spend a lot of money on an expensive vase, though. Some of the most charming methods for display can be made using items you’ll find around the house. Here are some very cute vase ideas that you can create on your own, buying little or no supplies from the store. The colored pencil vaseIt’s time to raid your kids’ art supplies,  get out the glue gun and roll up your sleeves. Use a plain glass or plastic cylinder vase, and glue each pencil to the exterior until it’s completely covered. Just make sure you choose a vase that is not much shorter to taller than the pencils—try to keep it within an inch. The boots vaseYou must have a pair of rubber boots lying around the house. The brighter the colors or patterns, the better, and children’s boots are always the most charming! The pumpkin vaseThis is the perfect fall time floral display. Just carve a small pumpkin as you’re carving out the jack-o-lanterns with your kids, and stuff it full of large, short-stemmed blooms. What a lovely centerpiece! The Teacup VaseYou must have some rarely-used teacups in your cupboards. Instead of letting them collect dust, feature them by as mini flower vases, using small blooms that fit neatly inside.
