Decorating with May Flowers

One of the greatest tricks about decorating with artificial flowers, is that you do so with flowers that are in season. The beautiful bloom of a fall flower in spring is a sure giveaway that you are using faux flowers. Prevent this by sticking with these blooms. Decorate with these may flowers now and enjoy them all spring and for many more springs to come.

Creating Custom Floral Arrangements

Start with a vase of your choice. Take some clear floral tape and create a grid pattern over the opening of the vase, leaving squares in which you can place the various stems. Press down the ends of the tape along the lip of the vase and trim away any excess. Start cutting down the stems of the artificial plants until they are the length that the vase requires. Continue doing this with all your flowers, cutting them at varying heights and arranging them until they are pleasing to the eye.

Mixing and Matching Flowers

Each of these flowers are beautiful on their own, but they can also be used alongside one another for a visually interesting handmade arrangement. Orchids, irises, and lilies all look stunning together. You could also use various types of the same flower, such as stargazer lilies, casablanca lilies, and calla lilies. Although similar, each of these flowers has a unique color and shape that makes them distinctly beautiful.

Think About Greenery

Once you know which flowers you want to use in your May arrangements, it is important that you also add in some greenery. Not only does it add yet another color to the mix, but it also provides some added height, texture, and interest.
