Silk Flowers for Budget-Friendly Bouquets

If you’re a budget-minded bride, you’re probably prowling for ways to save money without sacrificing little details that add up to a major impact. But did you know you can create your own bouquets, which will be lovely and immortal, without breaking the bank? We have some clever pointers that will help you hit the mark as you assemble your silk flower bouquets.

You’re probably skeptical that following a few helpful hints will bring you success—which means bouquets that are polished enough to be fitting for your big day. You are right. Unless you’ve made a hobby out of creating your own silk flower arrangements, or plan to work under the guidance of a professional, it would wise for you to take a workshop on the subject before you jump head-first into this venture. But once you have a handle on how to arrange silk flowers, these tips will help law the groundwork for bridal party bouquets that wow: -Limit yourself to three different blooms for your bridal and bridesmaids bouquets. One type of flower is fine, two or three is great, but four or more is just too much.

The old adage “less is more” rings true here. The rule of three does not include greenery or decorative accents like pearls or crystals, so feel free to use them as fillers to taste. -For neatness sake, it is important that stems be properly wrapped and bunched together. Cut off all silk foliage and wrap stems together with floral tape. If you plan to wrap ribbon around the length of the stem, you don’t need to limit the placement of the floral tape, but if you are only partially wrapping your bouquet in ribbon, make sure to keep the tape only on the spot the ribbon will hide.

When you are done, make sure to trim all stems to equal length. -To properly wrap the ribbon, you should start at the bottom and work your way up. Once you’ve gone as far up as you like, begin wrapping the ribbon downward. When you’ve reached the bottom, tie your ribbon in a knot to secure it and use a decorative pin with a pearl or crystal embellishment. The pin can be stuck right through the wrapping into the center of the bouquet stems
