Go Big with Huge Trees Article

Giant Trees

Giant artificial trees can be used both indoors and outdoors. However, because of their size, they are best suited in homes which actually have the space to house them. Recently, the demand for giant artificial trees has increased due to the number of estate-like homes which have been constructed in the past few years.

The use of giant artificial trees tends to increase in popularity around the Christmas season. Giant artificial trees in demand at this time include firs, spruces and pines. The most sought after trees are typically 12 feet to 15 feet in height but some specimens can exceed even 25 feet. Generally, giant artificial trees of this type have a price range of $500 to $1500.

However, giant tall trees are not limited to seasonal popularity. There are many varieties of giant artificial silk trees which can be used indoors at any time of the year. The most common of these are the palm and the Ficus Bamboo.

Tall Palm trees are available as preserved palm trees with steel reinforcing for a long life. These are 20 to 30 feet tall and ideal for shopping malls and hotel lobbies.

Artificial bamboo plants are inclined to be a bit more expensive with prices ranging from $1400 to $2200. However, these giant artificial trees also tend to be larger and can reach grander heights of over 16 feet. Typically these plants are popular and sold as an arrangement but individual specimens are available and add a touch of elegance to any environment.

Giant artificial trees can also be used outdoors, either for home or shopping malls. While many tree types may theoretically be used, palms are typically the most popular variety in this case.

These preserved giant trees can range from 12 feet to 23 feet in height and have to be made with heavy duty metal structures to increase stabilization. They are typically built on a steel frame and the fronds are treated to minimize fading from sun damage. These giant artificial trees can be quite expensive, with 21 feet Coconut palms costing anywhere between $2500 and $3000. However, smaller Cycas palms can be obtained for less but rarely exceed 10 feet in height.

The advantages of using giant artificial trees over live trees are numerous. In the case of outdoor specimens, it is often easier to move an artificial tree as there is no need to uproot it. There is also no possibility of insect damage. Giant artificial trees are long-lasting as they do not wilt, nor do they shed.

In dealing with trees of this height, it must be noted that natural trees would take many years to achieve the desired size. With the giant artificial tree, the effect is instantaneous as there is no long growing time. Additionally, and especially in the case of artificial tall trees, they can be easily packed away and re-used for a number of years, thereby cutting costs tremendously.
