Find Your Style: Coastal

This is the second installment of the Find Your Style series and today we would light to highlight the coastal style. This light and breezy design style is all about relaxation. Natural fibers, ocean-inspired art, and painted woods come together to create soft color palettes and beach retreats. You may think you already know exactly what coastal style is all about, but did you know that there are different categories of coastal styles? We will take a look at three and show you the differences between the beaches and share some of our favorite furnishings and accessories that fit within the theme.

Coastal Style

Coastal

AtlanticĀ Coastal

When you think of Atlantic Seaboard style, the word
“nautical” should come to mind. This bold style uses
a navy, red, and white color palette to pay homage to
the coast. Anchors are a common graphic within this
style, as are bold stripes and color blocking. When you
are looking for a coastal style with a brighter, preppier
look, this is the style you are after.

Coastal

California Coastal

When the west coast is your shore of choice, California
Coastal might just be the design style for you. Both
European and Asian Influences have taken hold in this
style, which is identified with rich woods in dark finishes
and comfortable fabrics in muted tones. Sea foam greens
and light blues soften up the richness of the stained wood
elements.

Gulf Coast

Tropical Island Coastal

We have gone east and west, now we travel to our third
and final coast, the gulf. Southern influences and a relaxed
nature bring us wicker and rattan furniture and colors a
little bit more vibrant in nature. This is also the coastal style
that likes to introduce some more modern flair, such as art
deco influences and graphic shapes.
