Logs

Add a natural look to your arrangement with logs from right in your back yard. Pick your favorite pieces of firewood or fallen branches. Cut both ends with a nice, clean level cut and gently clean the outside of the bark. Arrange these down your table in varying heights and top each one with a candle, pumpkin, gourd, or bowl of treats.

Wine Glasses

An inverted wine glass is the perfect way to elevate a pillar candle. The wide rim of the wine glass will provide the stability you need while the flat bottom offers the perfect resting place for a candle. For a something extra, place an ornament or bunch of greenery under the wine glass before topping it with a candle.

Cake Plates

For a fast focal point take an ordinary cake plate and lay a Christmas wreath down on top of it. Fill the center of the wreath with an odd number of pillar candles in varying heights and colors. To complete the look, add some cranberries or a string of battery-operated Christmas lights. This Christmas decoration will look great sitting on a kitchen counter or on an entry table.

Presents

Wrap cardboard boxes as if they were gifts and arrange them on the table in staggering heights. Top each one with something festive for a multi-level look that is sure to get everyone in the giving spirit. Empty pasta boxes, shipping boxes and Pringles containers work great for this application.

Affordable Christmas decorations are easy to make if you get in the habit of looking at things in a new way. Repurposing things you would otherwise throw away is a great way to add to your decorations without spending a fortune. Save that hard-earned money for gifts and delicious holiday meals.
