Artificial Plants with Southwestern Style

Being on vacation this week has me thinking about some of my all-time favorite places to visit and Arizona has got to rank in the top 5. The Southwest is so completely different from the east coast where I have grown up. Instead of landscaping with grass and bushes, this area uses rocks, gravel, and sand to create beautiful and interesting landscapes. The first time I flew out there I was taken aback by the beauty of the rugged terrain and hardy plants that call the arid desert home.

If you live in this region, including artificial plants in your home is a great way to ensure their survival. Succulents, cacti, agave, and aloe are all popular in Arizona, Nevada, and New Mexico. Infuse some southwestern style into your own home with these beautiful and often very architectural plants.

Rustic planters are another popular component of southwestern style. The rugged appearance is in keeping with the natural landscapes of the area. Indian-inspired planters are also a favorite in this area, because of their rich Native American history.

Sunrooms, living rooms, kitchens, and foyers are all ideal places to display these beautiful examples of artificial plants. Best of all, you never have to worry about keeping them alive. Simply place them and forget about them. Get even more great ideas about decorating with plants by following us on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+.
