5 Stylish Outdoor and Indoor Planters

Do you fall in love with planters, baskets, and urns but have no idea how to use them? Today we are going to show you five stylish planters and tell you just how we would use them to decorate our indoor or outdoor spaces. Don’t worry, these ideas are easy enough for beginners but stylish enough for home decor enthusiasts.

1. Decorative Rope Pots

Rattan and rope-wrapped pots are on of the most common types of planters out there. When you order an artificial tree or plant that comes in a boring plastic pot, these are just what you need to kick them up a notch. Place the simple plastic pot of any plant right inside one of these decorative ones to reinforce the design of your room.

2. Large Outdoor Urn

We love the look of a beautiful urn that has a tall artificial plant right in the center and low, accent plants positioned around it. Try a tall grass in the center of this grecian urn for height and texture and then surround it with a low bromeliad, azalea, or other pop of color.

3. Bamboo Stand Planter

These tall stand planters have so many different uses and are naturally one of our favorites for indoor decor. The intricate weaving of the bamboo deserves to be showcased. Do that by filling the planter with tall branches or grasses. If you don’t want to fill it with a plant at all, why not use it as an umbrella stand right inside the front door?

4. Shallow Cedar Barrels

A set of beautiful cedar barrels is just calling for a plethora of cascading plants. Fill the barrels with florist foam topped with heavy landscaping rocks. Then position in plenty of cascading azalea or bougainvillea outdoor plants. As the artificial flowers spill out over the edges the true beauty of this planter is revealed. Don’t hesitate to tip a barrel on it’s edge and use rocks only to anchor the plants.

5. Low Planters

You can never have enough low indoor planters such as this one. Before you can do anything else, place florist foam in the planter. Then add the succulents, flowers, or grasses of your choice. One final step is to cover the florist foam with rocks, moss, or other greenery.
